Public sector workers are under attack.

Gov. Rick Snyder's budget proposal would force public workers to accept an additional $180 million in new wage and benefit cuts to pay for a $1.8 billion tax break for corporate special interests like banks, oil and insurance companies.

Since Lansing politicians haven't been listening to the people of Michigan, we need your help to send a message that it's time to stop the power struggles, stop attacking public workers, and start creating jobs to get our economy moving again.

To make your voice heard, please submit a short 30-second video clip explaining who you are, what you do for a living, and how you make Michigan work. We will then share your testimonial with State Legislators.

Emergency Managers: Dismantling Democracy

Michigan's Republican Governor Rick Snyder signed legislation giving him what many have called “dictatorial” powers. The much despised Emergency Manager law gives Snyder the power to hand pick emergency managers, who then have the authority to take the following actions:

  1. Consolidate or dissolve local governments and dismiss the officials elected by the people.
  2. Consolidate or dissolve school districts, close schools, and dismiss elected school board members.
  3. Sell off public property. Public. Property. Parks, buildings, licenses, permits, and so forth. All of it.
  4. Privatize government services, with all that entails.
  5. Shred all contracts agreed to by local governments and schools, including union contracts.
