Progress North Carolina is changing the conversation about our state's future and waking thousands of North Carolinians to the fact that they need to start paying attention to what's happening in Raleigh. We are fighting far right attempts to reverse decades of progress, holding public officials accountable for their actions and raising the profile of progressive issues across the state.

We've been on the ground since August 2011, talking about education, the environment, women's rights and other issues important to ordinary North Carolinians. Along the way, the media has been taking note. In just a few short months, we inspired dozens of television news and newspaper stories that called attention to devastating policy changes and held public officials accountable for their promises. How are we different?

North Carolina has many wonderful progressive organizations and Progress North Carolina plays a key role in helping to amplify their messages.

We unite our state's progressive voters around a single platform but we also reach out to Unaffiliated voters as well as Democrats and Republicans who want our state to get back on track as a model of the new South.

We educate voters who aren't paying attention, reaching them where they spend most of their time: on television, in the pages of their hometown newspapers, on-line and through social media. We wake them to the fact that we need to fight the far right on a range of issues critical to NC's future or our state will lose the very traits that have made it great.

In short, we speak to the millions of North Carolinians who care about common sense, fairness and pathways to a better future. We then use their collective voices to influence public opinion, drive the political debate in our state, call out elected officials, demand the facts and, ultimately, motivate people to vote when election time comes.
